Why I need a Cessna Flight Simulator

As you might know, I really want to become a pilot in real life, not only in the flight simulator world. That has been my dream ever since I was a kid. So instead of looking to fly fighter jets or big jumbo jets, I needed a flight simulator for a small plane that a private pilot would fly in the real world.

That would be a Cessna for example. The Cessna is one of the most popular light passenger aircrafts of the world and there are many different models flying around our skies. Nevertheless there haven’t been many Cessna Flight Simulator options available in the past.

As I really needed different Cessna Flight Simulator models to practise flying them before starting my real flying lessons, I was very happy to see, that the best flight simulator game I discovered lately, includes a big variety of Cessna models, that offer a great detail with very realistic cockpits and controls.

The Cessna is a very light aircraft, which makes it a bit difficult to fly in bad weather conditions (in the real world and also in the flight simulator), but it is very agile and offers great fun for the beginner pilot.

Although the landings with those Cessna flight simulator models are a bit tricky, it’s also recommended for beginners. Virtual Pilot 3D includes Cessna models such as:

    * Cessna 172P Skyhawk (1981 model)
    * Cessna 172LE Skyhawk
    * Cessna 172R Skyhawk
    * Cessna 182
    * Cessna 182RG
    * Cessna 150L
    * Cessna 310R (1979 model)
    * Cessna U-3A
    * Cessna 550 Citation II
    * Cessna Citation Bravo
    * Cessna Citation X

As the included Cessna flight simulator is updated constantly like the rest of the flight simulator game, you might get even more models along the way soon.

The other day I came across a real amazing Cessna flight simulator cockpit setup, a guy had built at his home. He created a fully 180° panoramic view with five 37" LCD monitors and even isolated the whole setup from the room, so you would feel like in a real cockpit. The setup also contains six computers to ensure a smooth display of the view.

I think most of us can only dream of such an realistic setup, this is as close as it gets to real flying for sure.

But even if you don’t have such an setup, with the different Cessna models that are included in Virtual Pilot 3D, you will have lots of opportunities to practice your flying skills, with pretty easy takeoffs and also easy to learn controls in the air.

Of course flying a Cessna using a flight simulator game is never enough preparation to fly a real plane, but it helps to prepare yourself for instrument flight, to get used to alle the controls and communication methods.

It could save you a lot of money, as you possibly need less flying lessons if you are already familiar with the several different controls of the cockpit, who are all simulated in the Cessna flight simulator in a very real way.

With Virtual Pilot 3D you can choose to fly in any weather condition you want and practise flying in them with your favorite airplane, be it a Cessna or something else. This way you can see how the aircraft reacts to certain weather conditions, which can be helpful to know for each model, before flying it in the real world.
